Green Keelback Snake Highlights Chirawa Eco-Trail

On Sunday, Chirawa Flower Valley hosted an engaging eco-trail event, organized collaboratively by the Forest Department and WWF-India. Ajay Chittaura, Divisional Forest Officer of Udaipur North, reported that the event featured educational sessions about the diverse flora and fauna of the region, including snakes, bees, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife.

Arun Soni, WWF-India’s lead officer, highlighted that over 40 participants, ranging in age from 8 to 70, took part in the event. Experts from the field provided detailed insights to all attendees. Devendra Kumar Tiwari, Divisional Forest Officer of Wildlife Udaipur, noted that the growing participation in such events reflects the increasing public interest in wildlife conservation fostered by the joint efforts of the Forest Department and WWF-India.

Specialist guides Devendra Mistri and Hitesh Shrimal presented information on various bird species, including the Indian Paradise Flycatcher, Indian Golden Oriole, Large Grey Babbler, Cinereous Tit, Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher, Black Kite, Coppersmith Barbet, Indian Grey Hornbill, Common Myna, and Greater Coucal. They also covered over 25 additional bird species and more than 30 plant varieties. Rescuer Dharmendra Panikar captivated the audience by showcasing the Green Keelback Snake, a highlight of the trail that drew significant attention from participants.
