Gondia: In a surprising turn of events, a python was discovered with an unusual meal—a 2-kilogram chicken and an iron rod—in the Dhabatekadi area of Arjuni Morgaon taluka, Gondia district. The bizarre incident prompted a swift rescue operation involving local snake handlers and veterinary professionals.
Residents of Adarsh Dhabatekadi came across the python, which measured between 6 to 7 feet long, at a poultry farm. The discovery led to an immediate call for assistance from snake rescuers. Upon examination, it was revealed that the python had ingested not only the chicken but also an iron rod.
The snake rescuers alerted the Forest Department, who, along with veterinary officers, managed to extract both the chicken and the iron rod from the python. After the operation, the python received medical treatment and was subsequently released back into its natural habitat. This incident underscores the unexpected and sometimes hazardous interactions between wildlife and human activities in the area.
