Western Australian police successfully apprehended a monitor lizard causing a commotion at a property in Carnarvon on November 24. Bodycam footage released by the Western Australia Police Force captured the moment two officers handled the situation, lifting the hissing reptile by its tail and securing it in the back of their truck.
The incident, which authorities humorously referred to as a “scaly situation,” was shared with the public through a Facebook post. “Carnarvon officers were called to handle a scaly situation,” the post read. “No Jurassic relics were harmed in the making of this arrest, but one is now in custody.”
The lizard, which was not identified, was safely removed from the property without injury. The police’s lighthearted approach to the incident drew attention, with many social media users commenting on the unusual nature of the call.
